To be honest, I am tired of doing nothing but consume all day every day and I want to change something in my life. The thing is I have tried in the past to find a new hobby and there have been obstacles in the past e.g. lack of time or patience, being broke or just needing too many external variables to align.
However, regardless of these very irritating things, I've decided to try again!
Technically, because of the nature of this website, it seems like HTML/website building is going to be my first hobby. I did try this is the past but I didn't have a concrete or consistent plan to use it so it ended up falling to the wayside. Hopefully, by continuing to update this website I'll slowly develop my HTML and CSS skills.
With that being said, this is going to be a really dead website if I don't try anything else. So it's time for a list!
Might try french again one day, but for now, Spanish!
At this point, you might be thinking "Wow, are you a grandma?"
And the answer is no... but they might have the right idea. Like sometimes they have the right idea. People my age are doing marathon training and for why? I'm almost tired looking at them. I definetely should put an athletic hobby down but they tend to be either really hard or embarassing like running, outside, in public, for people to see?! Or require 1+ person. As the anxious little caterpillar I am, I don't want to drag my friends to watch me try and fail at athleticism. Thus, the journey begins where many things do, in the comfort of my home.
For real though, I don't want to push myself into doing something and give up the whole thing completely from sheer embarassment. Baby steps people, baby steps. I don't want to venture so far outside my comfort zone that I get discouraged but I do want to try things out. So I settled on this very small list to expand upon.
Spanish is my current number 1. Monolingual is out and polygot is in. There are people who can do 6 languages and I can barely do 1 and a half? No way can I let that go. I signed up for a free language course starting next year and I tried to get some basics done (I lwk fell off) but I'm trying again! I actually did French back in school so this was a fun little switch up and I realised spanish suits me more. I think I'm more inclined to the spanish speaking countries as opposed to France which is NOT the place for me. It was a bit disappointing to realise that France and I were perhaps not meant to be but we move upwards and onwards (hopefully).
I just realised I straight up just blurting onto this page at this point which makes me wonder if I should add journalling onto the list? Hmm things to consider. Anyhow, I added the rest because analog >> digital (also tech hobbies are sooo expensive) and I thought they seemed fun. Unlike languages, a concrete product is something that would be definitive proof that I've done something and easier to track the progress on ♥.
